River Information Services (RIS) are harmonised information services that support traffic and transport management in inland navigation, including, where technically feasible, interfaces with other transport modes. RIS does not affect internal commercial transactions between the companies concerned, but is open to the development of links with commercial activities. RIS includes services such as fairway information, traffic information, traffic management, traffic management, mitigation support, traffic management information, statistical and customs services, and shipping and port dues.

In Hungary, the PannonRIS system is being continuously developed and operated in cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and Transport and the Radio Emergency and Infocommunication National Association (RSOE). The PannonRIS website provides information supporting Danube navigation 24 hours a day.
